Assurance Presents 2010 Scholarships to Illinois State University Students

SCHAUMBURG, IL (April 23, 2010) -Assurance Agency, Ltd., one of Chicagoland’s largest privately-held insurance brokerages, announces the recipients of its 2010 college scholarship program. Illinois State University students Kristin Johnson and Jayne Rector were each presented with a $1,000 scholarship during a ceremony held for the University’s Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services.

Each year the Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services selects two qualified candidates to receive Assurance’s scholarship. Eric Michael, an Assurance employee and ISU graduate, and Jacob Guimond, another Assurance employee and graduate of the Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services, presented the scholarships during a ceremony held at the Marriot Hotel in Normal, Illinois on April 7, 2010. Insurance professionals from across the state gathered for dinner and an opportunity to meet the recipients of their organizations’ scholarships at this ceremony.

Kristin Johnson, a resident of Rockford, Illinois and Jayne Rector, a resident of Morton, Illinois have participated in numerous Katie School events and industry related extra curricular activities. Kristin Johnson is expected to graduate this year and is pursuing a career in commercial underwriting or brokerage. Jayne Rector, a sophomore, is eager to strengthen her knowledge about the insurance industry and is expected to graduate in May 2012.
